America is Apple Pie

Apple pie is to thiis day and forever will be th classic American desert.  Sometimes there is just nothing better than than a nice warm ooey gooey apple pie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and maybe some caramel sauce…..  oohh I’m drooling just typing about this.  I’m gonna have to go make one now.

Baking is a great past time and certianly something thats fun to do with your kids.  Baking is fairly forgiving because you can almost fix something in the process if you happen to do something wrong.  Take your time, follow a great recipe, and enjoy the finished product.

In my opinion the two most important things about an apple pie are as follows:

1: Presentation

    The weaving of the strips on top are a vital part to the finished look of the apple pie.  If the strips are too skinny or too fat it doesn’t look kgood.  If the strips are not straight with one another it doesn’t look good, and if they are not weaved correctly it also does not look as appealing.

Side note: the best apple pie I ever EEEVVVVVERRRR tasted was made by the owner of a germantown tn roofing company…. It was absolutely to die for

2. The Goo

     I’m sure theres another term for this but I call it the goo.  Apple pies with no goo in them are just too dry and not a bold or fluid enough flavor in my opinion.  You’ve got to make sure you get that warm goo in there as it brings flavor and moistness to the pie as well as pairing so well with the ice cream that is coming.
